Lewduh market also known as Bara bazaar is one of the largest and the oldest markets in Shillong.The market is located in Shillong.  It is one of the major trade and commercial hub of the state. This market is all women’s market. Some of the items which you can find here are fruits , vegetables, handloom and handicraft items and many more.

Police Bazaar

Police Bazaar is a popular place where people assemble in the evenings and this one is a more modern market has a number of shops, multi cuisine restaurants and hotels, and that cater to every need of the people. Some of the Popular shopping outlets in Police Bazar are Reliance Trends, Vishal Mega Mart, Glory's Plaza, OB Shopping Mall, Assam Emporium and Tibetan Market.

Shawls

Meghalaya is cold for most part of the year and therefore you can find variety of warm clothes in the markets of Meghalaya. The shawls which you can find in Meghalaya are extremely beautiful. You can find Naga and Manipuri shawls in almost all the shops in the markets. Most of the shops also sells  woolen Manipuri Lungis.

Scottish Dress Materials

 You can also find beautiful dress material in the shops which you can make them into shirts, skirts and Jackets. These dress material are extremely warm and beautiful. While you can find number of ‘dress-material’ in Meghalaya, but the best one is Hanumanbux located opposite Dreamland cinema in Police Bazar, Shillong for the variety they keep. The price are also extremely reasonable (about Rs 250 a meter).

Khasi Scrub

Khasi scrub is something which you must defiantly buy. This is something unique and you will never find in big cities. Khasi Scrub can be found almost everywhere. The price of this scrub is Rs 50.

Meghalaya is a place for those who loves to try different food items.  Bara bazaar is known for selling fruits, vegetables and spices. Meghalaya is also famous for momos. If you want to try some local cuisine then you must defiantly try Jadoh.
